Cutting & Forming Fluid Solutions

Precision Fluids for the Sharpest Edges and Deepest Draws

From high-speed machining to complex cold forming, KERUN delivers tailored fluid solutions that extend tool life, protect mold integrity, and deliver superior surface finishes—while keeping your total operating cost under control.

Process Challenges

The High-Precision Pressure of Cutting & Forming

In cutting and forming, success hinges on the micron-thick lubrication film. We align fluid chemistry with your process mechanics—balancing EP strength and friction coefficients to eliminate BUE and galling. This is how we turn high-friction liabilities into high-precision assets.

  1. Rapid Tool Wear

High cutting temps and inadequate EP lubrication accelerate crater and flank wear, shortening tool life and hurting dimensional stability.

  2. Surface Defects

Built-up edge (BUE), chatter marks, or galling in forming lead to rework or rejected parts.

  3. Fluid Instability

Emulsion splitting, fungal growth, or tramp oil ingress raises maintenance load and harms operator environment.

  4. Rising Cost per Part

Frequent tool changes, higher reject rates, and shortened fluid life silently erode margins.

KERUN Solution Approach

Stage Cutting & Forming Certainty: From Edge to Asset

    Understand the Machining Process

We map your material machinability, forming severity, tool/substrate combinations, and current fluid condition. This builds a baseline for optimization.

    Tailored Formulation Engineering

For cutting, we balance EP/AW additives and oil-water affinity to suppress BUE and control heat. For forming, we tune frictional behavior (μ) and film strength to prevent galling and enable deeper draws without die pickup.

    Support Testing and Implementation

Supervise central system fill or single-machine charge, set target concentration windows, and align mist collection/nozzle placement. Ensure lab-proven surface roughness (Ra) and tool life gains are replicated on the floor.

    Manage Performance through LMS

Routine checks on concentration (refractometer), pH drift, fungal screening, and tramp oil skimming. Proactive top-up scheduling and batch-end disposal guidance to minimize operator exposure and waste cost.
